Curriculum
Prerequisites
General coursework
We do not expect any statistics, mathematics, or computational for learners using cryoEDU. We do suggest that you are familiar with undergraduate biochemistry since cryoEM and cryoET are techniques that characterize how biological macromolecules function in vitro and in vivo. For a refresh, or for new students, we recommend ‘Principles of Biochemistry‘ on HarvardX/edX or ‘Biochemistry‘ on Open Learning Initiative.
CryoEM background
Since cryoEDU focuses on teaching learners how to analyze cryoEM/ET data, we recommend using other online resources to learn theoretical foundations in cryoEM/ET:
What you can expect to learn
At the completion of this coursework, learners will:
- Independently assess cryoEM/ET data
- Understand how to design effective data processing workflows
- Understand how changes in input parameters affect analysis outcomes
- Understand how data quality affects downstream processing steps
